FPB Videos

Here are 14 videos dealing with the FPB Series. This is the best way to get a feel for how these yachts deal with the real world of cruising. They start with a five minute introduction, and then take you through storm force reaching and running conditions, a North Atlantic gale, and more pleasant sea states. These end up with a pair of videos detailing the design work that went into the FPB Series prototype.

The FPB video series introduction is available here.

To join sea trials on the FPB 64, Avatar, click here

For storm force reaching and running with waves to 30 feet (9m) and beyond while crossing the infamous Tasman Sea, click here.

Part two of the Tasman crossing will show you how the FPB 83 Wind Horse handles surfing conditions.

Join Wind Horse for a 2900 mile passage from California to Panama, and get a feel for the rhythm of a long passage here.

Transiting the Panama Canal, making an upwind Caribbean Sea voyage, and enjoying thin water cruising in the beautiful Bahamas are here.

The trip from the Bahamas north to Nova Scotia can be difficult, especially when the breeze is on the nose. Ride with Wind Horse and crew on this 1200 mile passage, and then enjoy Lunenberg, Nova Scotia.

Newfoundland and Labrador are fascinating parts of Canada. This video starts with a passage in steep beam seas.To experience what this feels like click here.

Greenland is one of the most spectacular and dangerous cruising areas on the planet. Click here to find out why this island has such a draw for explorers.

Short of actually making a voyage on an FPB the heavy weather videos will give you a good idea of how these yachts handle adverse open ocean conditions. This video deals with the North Atlantic during a compression gale.

The FPB design cycle is presented in two sections. It provides a detailed look at the design precedents which provide the foundation for the FPB Series, the design process itself, with an explanation of what we expected from the prototype. This video was done before launching and the performance projections make for an interesting comparison with the reality of Wind Horse. Part one is here. Watch part two by clicking here.
