We’ve been doing the FPB 64 updates on the Dashew Offshore section of the website. But the new SetSail is so much easier for us to upload we will keep them here for the immediate future.
It has been a while since we have updated you on the FPB progress in New Zealand, so there is a lot to review. We’ll start in the Owner’s suite forward, the bunk for which is shown here.

Here is a shop floor assembly of the cabinet work of the Owner’s suite. For scale we’ve included this handsome male model (Todd Rickard, FPB 64 Project Manager), who is 6’2″ (1900mm) tall. When the hull panels, headliners, bulkhead finish, and art work are in place this space will expand wonderfully.

The step, middle right, leads to a walkway outboard of the double bunk. There will be two shelves integrated into the hull liners forming storage areas and hand holds.

Looking from the aft port corner across the stateroom.

A detail of the bottom of the drawer stack at the forward end of the stateroom.

And the interior of one of the lockers under the vanity bench.

One of the many hundreds of pieces being readied for installation.

Now to the boat itself. Installation of the insulation is just about complete throughout the interior. This photo is taken from the center of the great room looking forward. The inside bridge area electronics and desk space spans between the port side corner window mullion and the center right mullion.

Here we are looking from the center of the great room aft, into the galley, and across (to the left in the photo) towards the entry (the view of which is partially blocked by the wet locker structure).

A small but important detail. This is the air flow control on one of the Dorade vents. The knob controls a gasketed plate which adjusts or makes water tight these vents.

Section of engine room bulkhead. This is a specially fabricated plywood mounted on an aluminum framework. The opening shown here will eventually have a water tight door into the engine room.

A close up of the ply showing the special proprietary noise dampening layer. The plywood is also isolated from the aluminum.

And a final photo with our model showing the layout of the stairs going down to the aft accommodation area.
