A New Paradigm for Cruising

How did you get started with boat design?

Hi Steve, One question … when and how did you get started with boat design …and so on …? Maybe you should publish a short bio on your website … I am sure I am not the only one asking you. mit freundlichem Gruss / with kind Regards, Sebastian Linnert
Hi Sebastian: I started designing small catamarans for personal use about 1964. One thing led to another and here we are in the 21st century still doing it. It was strictly a hobby at first, and when we did our first cruising yacht it was for our own use. Then friends wanted a boat, and another friend, and the business grew by word of mouth. Today we cruise with a full clone of the office computers and a dual monitor office aboard Wind Horse and we are still at it… Hard to imagine it has been this long, but we are still enjoying the process.

“The 83ft-long (25m) wave-piercer...could easily be mistaken for the spawn of the Royal Navy with its unpainted battleship grey, all-aluminum body. But that day, in those conditions, it was the only boat that I would have wanted to climb aboard to face the English Channel.” --Motor Boat & Yachting

“This would have to be the most intriguing offshore cruising powerboat I have come across. Conceptually, Steve Dashew has possibly developed a new paradigm for offshore cruising…”
