These include boat characteristics, engine prop curve, transmission reduction, and the type of prop (feathering, folding, two blade, or three blade). Best bet is to talk with a prop shop in your area that is familiar with the boat. There is also a large section in our Offshore Cruising Encyclopedia on propellers, which might help you in making a choice.
