The beaches in Spain and Portugal are very accessible to the general public and get a good workout. We try to get in a walk first thing, before it gets too warm, and this morning after lengthy negotiations it was decided to walk along the beach.

It is relatively quiet here at 0830 (the sun has only been up for half an hour). But there are a few folks walking in the sand or just greeting the new day.

These gents were warming up, going through a slow dance. We suspect the action was hotter later on.

Can you guess who is the sensei (teacher)? When he slaps the palm tree the entire trunk quivers. We are familiar with, and occasional practioners of, one arm pushups. But here the technique is one foot pushups, on your knuckles of course.

Check out Granny getting in some ab work.

There are lovely tiled seats and benchs along the entire boardwalk.

And a robust looking table tennis set up. Note who brings you this wonderful layout.

At frequent intervals there are stationary bikes, and they are in use.

Want to get the sand off. Lots of watering stations await your arrival.

And the highlight of the morning.

We make a right turn to find a coffee, and then head back to the boat for some chores.

Meanhwhile, back at the beach, by mid-day it is happening.
