I have a
\nrelatively simple question, we are considering having an aluminum
\nsailing catamaran built for us in the Philippines (Tim Mumby design)
\nand I am intrigued by the idea of having bare aluminum decks. Does
\nthis work in the tropics where we tend to spend quite a lot of time?
\nSeems like they would get quite hot. If it does work, any thoughts on
\nsources for non skid plating that would work for this?
\nBTW, you introduced me to some calculations on prop tip speed and
\ncavitation that made our Max Prop work much better.

Our experience is that aluminum decks are about the same temperature with bare feet as teak. An hour either side of noon and you want shoes. We use marine grade treadplate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
