The 44&#8242; boat I recently purchased uses a small diameter spectra line for furling, and if and when it takes off in a breeze, it can do great damage to the hands! If you let it go, it usually kinks in the aft furling block. And in light airs it will probably be necessary to turn off the ratchet when unrolling.
