We are still tied to the dock, fine-tuning new systems, playing with the exhaust, experimenting with new motor mounts, and delving into various and sundry minor electrical\/electronic upgrades. When we started this last fall we were just going to do a bit of preventative maintenance, with what we thought was a perfect cruising boat. Then we got ambitious, and decided to trade a bit of cruising time for an enhancement in cruising effectiveness later on. We would never have gone down this road if it hadn’t been for the pleasant folks with whom we have to work, and the beautiful surroundings.<\/p>\n

You would normally consider aesthetics and boat yards as an oxymoron. The photos in this post are all taken from Wind Horse<\/em>, or near her, in the Jarrett Bay yard\/dock. This handsome fellow is on hand each evening for his dinner. This photo was taken from the flying bridge.<\/p>\n \u00a0In the next few days we’ll say “enough”, stop fiddling with an already optimized cruising tool, and get on with the work of testing our systems in their natural environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

There are the resident ospreys, of course.<\/p>\n
And they find lots of heavy lifting nearby.<\/p>\n
Each afternoon there is the thunder and lightening show. When we see a cloud like this we think super thermal (tornado), and keep an eye on it.<\/p>\n
