After a very busy week in Whangarei, Todd and I were treated to a home-cooked meal and a walk on the beach yesterday evening.<\/p>\n
Kelly Archer and his wife Joss have a lovely “batch” (beach house) in Waipu, about 40 km down the road from Circa. While we dug our bare feet into the sand and chatted about the week’s events, the sun eased down to the east, casting shadows and light all around.<\/p>\n

As the shadows lengthen and the sun follows its annual course to the north, so must we. A Boeing 777 awaits our boarding in Auckland in a few hours. Time to pack our gear and head back to Los Angeles and Seattle respectively. Buffalo Nickel<\/em>‘s owners are ready to put some hours on their engine; it’s time to recharge ours on a leisurely 13 hour flight.
