The view from inside, even on a rainy morning, is stunning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every direction holds unique beauty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking carefully at the preceding photos you may notice some white dots.\u00a0<\/span>These are mountain goats.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is also the location of the best of the Marquesan pamplemousse, or\u00a0<\/span>grapefruit. But these grapefruit are unlike anything your imagination\u00a0<\/span>can conjure. Sweet, succulent, and addictive. There is no equal. The\u00a0<\/span>last time we had one of these was in 2005 when we were bringing Wind\u00a0<\/em><\/span>Horse<\/em> up from New Zealand to the west coast of the US. We had stopped\u00a0<\/span>at Fanning atoll and met a cruiser on his way to Hawaii from the\u00a0<\/span>Marquesas. He was out of fresh food, except for pamplemousse, which\u00a0<\/span>keep well. We gave him a bunch of extra vegetables we had aboard and\u00a0<\/span>he gave us a pamplemousse.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a\u00a0very short\u00a0maintenance stop. We are giving the boat a quick once-<\/span>over before the hop to Panama, along with attending to the ongoing \u201cto do\u201d\u00a0<\/span>list.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
