0800 hours. Would you believe we’ve been sailing most of the night? OK, it is a run (which we do not like) but hey, this is a lot better than motoring! And, we’ve set a new personal best for continuous time in one squall. We’ve been surrounded by the same wet weather now for the past six hours. It is only now starting to ease up.

The barometer is now fluctuating around 1017 mb. That’s a drop of a couple of Mb If we didn’t have the experts telling us otherwise, we’d be worried. Doesn’t take much of a pressure differential at these latitudes to create problems.

The E to ESE winds we’ve been sailing in indicate a low center to our NW. Be interesting to see the NMG faxes a little later, hear what Commander’s has to say, and check out the chopper models. Acapulco is now just 15 hrs away, and Manzanillo a little less than two days – both of which are good stopping places if we are forced to wait out any weather developments.

The biggest news is that we’ve finally gotten the GPS and speedometer to agree! Up until last night, we’ve been losing an average of about 1.5 knots/hour – 36 miles/day to current. Right now the current has gone away. Hope it stays wherever it went.
