How does SetSail use my information?

SetSail’s primary goal in collecting personal information is to process your order. When you place an order, we ask you to register with your name and contact info. You can also store up to five shipping addresses in your SetSail address book. We request this data in order to be able to process your order.

You will only receive email from us in regards to an order you have placed, or if you have signed up for our email newsletter. We do not use this information to send you unsolicited emails (or spam). For more on the email newsletter, see below.

SetSail does do research on our users’ demographics, interests, and how they use our site from our server logs. We do this to make our site better. This research is compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis (meaning we do not single out information on specific users).

We use “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.

With whom does SetSail share my information?

SetSail will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information with anyone except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.

Email newsletter

We use Constant Contact to administer our email subscriptions. For their privacy policy, click here.

Our email marketing is strictly permission based. If you received a mailing from us, it is because our records indicate that (a) you have expressly shared this address for the purpose of receiving information in the future (“opt-in”), or (b) you have registered or purchased or otherwise have an existing relationship with us. We respect your time and attention by controlling the frequency of our mailings.

Each email sent contains an easy, automated way for you to cease receiving email from us. If you wish to do this, simply follow the SafeUnsubscribe™ or Update Profile links at the end of any email.

When we send you emails, we may include a web beacon to allow us to determine the number of people who open our emails. When you click on a link in an email, we may record this individual response. Web beacons collect only limited information, such as a cookie identifier, time and date of a page being viewed, and a description of the page on which the Web Beacon resides (the URL). Web Beacons can be refused when delivered via email. If you do not wish to receive Web Beacons via email, you will need to disable HTML images or refuse HTML (select Text only) emails via your email software.
