This is going to sound a little strange, but of all the trades involved with building a yacht, the one which has historically given us the biggest headaches have been the upholsters. So far, this has not been a problem with Circa.
The bunk cushions are a mixture of foam types and densities as are the salon cushions.
It is the salon cushions which are the hardest to get right. Part of this is the design of the cushion and its support and part is the skill of the tradesman. The lead photo is a salon seat foam blank. One of the seat belts is shown.
Bottom cushions are typically stiffer than backs. However, too soft on either and after a short period of time the foam starts to distort and the cushions no longer look crisp. Although this is a very personal decision, our own tendency is to use stiffer foams so the cushions retain their shape over the years.
When you see photos like this you know the launch date is near.
