A Coruna, Spain – Work Stop

A-Coruna2-17.jpg

A bit of false advertising with this sunny day in Marina Coruna – just one of these in the week we have been here. Otherwise, rain and wind, which is OK as we have been catching up on various business related paperwork and doing a little designing, all made easier with a stable wifi connection. We have also had a chance to meet a bunch of cruisers, some returning from the States, a few going to the West Indies, most headed south to the Med.

This has allowed us pick up a few tips on places to check out along the coast, where to buy fuel (in the Spanish African enclave of Ceuta), and to form an opinion about the Med and where we might want to hang out, if we do go that way.

The marina staff is helpful in the extreme.

The two lane main dock serves as a golf cart highway (we wonder if they have lost any yet to Father Neptune).

The water is wonderfully clear, if still a little chilly.

And there are a variety of interesting craft t o check out.

We have been surprised at the formal attire many Spaniards still wear. Perhaps it is left over from the days of General Franco, or maybe the Inquisition.

On the  other hand, it may be the Spanish enjoy dressing up, or down, as the case may be.

The town is charming, a mixture of old and new.

What we have found the most interesting so far is the people watching.

We have put together a slide show of things and people that have caught our eye. Tomorrow we head out along the Coast of Death to Cape Finisterre.
