Rockland Maine, The Light, And Why It Is Sometimes Hard To Stay Focused

Sunset Rockland Maine 107

We have a stack of work to do for the FPB 97, an article due today for a magazine, our accountants need data from us with which to take care of taxing matters, and we are faced with a dilemma. When we should be hard at tasks on the critical path, the light is distracting us from our responsibilities.

But when you see a sunset like this, the urge to try its capture is irresistible. There may never be another moment quite the same. So everything else stops. Of course we can always get an early start tomorrow.

The next day and even before the sun has hit the horizon, we know our plans for an early start are doomed to failure.

A sunrise like this is simply too valuable to waste.

So we stand on deck, drinking in the beauty. Then we need to process the photos. It seems unfair not to share, so we put together this quick post.

OK, it is 0700 and we really do need to get to work.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. Thanks for the gentle reminder of not letting the seemingly ‘important’ stuff push aside the opportunity to appreciate the present beauty before all of us.

Seems to me that your priorities are exactly where they should be. Crusing in service of being able to stop and “see the sunsets.” If you ever get to where crusing gets in the way of being able to stop and see the sunsets, there’s something terribly wrong.
