The weather “potential” is getting more interesting. The gale forecast has been upgraded to storm-40 to 50knots-higher gusts-seas to 18 feet. We’ve got light W winds, but are starting to see some swells from the blow.
We’ve given up on working the boat in light airs in favor preparing for the storm-in case it hits early. Mizzen genoa and big reacher are stowed, storm covers fitted to hatches and the heavy storm staysail is now bent on. We’re just 10 miles off the Mexican coast, and are watching the forecasts and signs. If conditions don’t moderate, we may anchor off the beach for a day or so and catch up on some reading-while the Tehuantepecker dies back down to gale strength.
