Not all underwater metal surfaces are good candidates for anti-fouling paint, so the Dashews test a product called "Prop Shield".

We’re testing a new (to us) metal coating called Prop Shield. This is a grease-like substance that is applied to underwater metal surfaces which are not good candidates for anti-fouling paint.

That’s our buddy, Dave Wyman, using a heat gun to warm the propeller (per the instructions) to help draw the Prop shield into the surface porosity of the metal (check out Dave’s cool hat).
We’ll report back in six months or so once we see how this is working.
