Sarah Sarah is berthed at the Hawaii Yacht Club on Oahu. Prior to turning in they sent us a few photos of Palmyra Atoll (above), Pango (at the end of this blog), and the trip up.

Preliminary data indicates that for the last leg, across the hurricane belt, Sarah Sarah averaged 9.8 knots turning 1750 to 1800 RPM, with top surfing speed of 14.7 knots. Average fuel burn reported by the engine’s CPU was 4.5 US gallons / 17 liters per hour. Good going guys!

    Steve,
Seems the picture of Sarah Sarah in Samoa shows the bow thruster and most of the waterline exposed? If so, what would be the advantage to voyage so lightly loaded? Is the bow thruster fitted too shallow to be useful at the end of a long passage if water maker failure makes replacing the weight of the fuel an issue? Just seemed odd to be floating so high.
    Really enjoy your website………Thanks!
    Cheers,

    Hi Roger:
Actually, that circle is a paint detail requested by the owner. The thruster is below the waterline.
