The People Part

There are a lot of reasons we enjoy what is a very tough business. The creative process is of course a part. But equally important are the relationships established with our clients. Watching their expressions as they see a dream afloat for the first time is a great pleasure.

Normally we do sea trials with just the yacht in question’s Owners. But this time it is a little different. All four Owners of the first series of FPB 64s are on hand to see just what they are going to get.

If you have been watching the build cycle on these yachts you will know that there is a major visual transformation that takes place from construction to floating. It has to be hard to imagine what the final product will look like during the aesthetic chaos of the build cycle and we’d be surprised if there weren’t more than a few sighs of relief, and pleasure, at the metamorphosis.

Of course there is more to what makes a great yacht than the interior finish.

So folks have been checking out the systems and hidden details. These are all experienced yachtsmen and women with the experience to appreciate the job Circa have done.

With a clear idea now of how things look we’ve all been working together to firm up aesthetic choices.

We have also had a chance to review as a group how the design goals appear to be working out now that a few days of sea trials are behind us.

The questions and comments in this and other less formal chats have been an enjoyable change of pace.

And its not all business. We’ve been hanging out together in the evenings, sharing tales, exchanging ideas, and yes, talking boats.

The group social aspect of this process is new for us.

In the past we have worked one on one with clients. But this group dynamic has been enjoyable, a pleasant surprise.

Our Owners are already trading ideas for where to rendezvous.
