Long time correspondent Alan Leslie was kind enough to send us a few photos yesterday from the capital of the island nation Vanuatu, Vila. This is one of two Sundeer 64 cutters. For a mature lady she is looking very good to our eye.
At the cay sits FPB 64 number one, Avatar.
Note the sophisticated passeral. The key here is the aft deck on the starboard side is designed for stern to boarding with a high dock (that’s why the starboard side pushpit is open). Owners do have the option of higher tech passerals. But for occasional use, a plank works fine.
And Alan’s lovely Diva.
If you see one of our yachts and have a camera handy, please send us some photos. It gives us a buzz to see our waterchildren in use.

Mr. Dashew,
Although currently, in my case, this is just for my curiosity: what changes would be required/suggested in the FPB64 should its main environment be fresh water, i.e. the Michigan Great Lakes (please forgive my possessive description everyone – I live here)?
Thank you,
Michael

Hi Michael:
I cannot think of any changes for fresh fresh water except perhaps the bottom paint. Also, it is possible the hull zincs might need to be larger.
