FPB 78-1 Cochise is roaming free–at last.
Running at 12 knots here, Cochise exhibits a similar bow wave to the relatives in the FPB fleet.
Sunday morning, Cochise is up at dawn, ready for a day of trials.
Sometimes it is just better to sit and enjoy the view.
We will continue with trials tomorrow.

Did the owners spec the different surface finish treatment on the hull?

The surface finish is similar to Wind Horse and more irregular than the FPB 64s.

Wow! I’ve been following all your exploits (like many have) from the earliest days. I had doubts about the proportions, the weight up top with that glass and so on but not about the seaworthiness given the rigorous design expertise. Cochise sits in the water like a natural. We’ve had the change from Beowulf (that’s where I first found you) – to Windhorse – to the FPB 64’s (great blogs there!) – Iceberg (shame that is quiet – beautiful vessel – but fair enough) – all those open and engaged discussions about the matrix deck – the mechanical discussions are fantastic (more please) – the photography is stunning – the 70 is on its way and now this launch. Great job Steve & Linda and all those who brought this game changer into being at Circa and around the world. Thank you for sharing!

A truly beautiful and strong presence. Congratulations to another amazing creation. Always looking forward to the updates. Will be interesting to see the dink set up on Cochise. Will it be similar to Iceberg (any feedback from how this set up works?). Looks like there is preparation on starboard side aft for some features.

Cochise is so fpb-cool — what a joy it must be for you-two to actually be on your dreamboat. “Free at last”, for sure, …yes?
The night-pic, showing part of the lighting arrangement of the underside of the porch’s shade-cover gives me an idea of what it’s like being on the aft-deck.
Would you mind doing a pic from the back-window of the matrix-deck aiming down to the aft-deck so i could see the setup of the porch-cover and the solar-panels…?
