Nope, I’m not talking about the movie – beautiful blue color in the above shot by Carol Parker notwithstanding. As a matter of fact, your genial author couldn’t make it through the unbelievably tedious sci-fi re-telling of Pocohantas. No, we here at SetSail are big fans of The Avatar Logs, the blog and photo site of Carol Parker and her adventures with husband Mike aboard FPB 64, Avatar.
Many yacht owners have blogs online these days: it’s a wonderful way to keep in touch with friends and family, and the well-executed ones provide great armchair relief for those still dreaming of launching their own offshore adventures. Every now and then, however, one comes across a truly extraordinary site, and The Avatar Logs are just such an example.
Carol Parker is an avid and talented photographer. She lends a keen, inspired eye to every port and passage. The images alone elicit emotion, but the casual, well-informed travel narratives make for a complete package. It is a pleasure to follow her and the crew of FPB 64 Avatar through exotic locales–most recently Vanuatu in the South Pacific.
The SetSail crew greedily devours Carol’s exciting, art-filled updates every chance we get. We invite you to do the same.

Thanks Sarah
It’s another treasure chest indeed… a bit of competition for Steve in the photography stakes.
Best, Warren

Wow, Sarah – thanks for the accolades! We just arrived in Gizo and I finally got enough internet connectivity to catch up on my RSS reads and found your very flattering post. Have to say without our FPB many of our adventures would be impossible!
Cheers

Flattery gets us everywhere. 🙂 Well, almost everywhere. The boat gets us to the really far-out places!
