Cochise’s all too short visit to Fiji has come to an end. It is time to head over the horizon.
Just as we’ve gotten into the cruising routine, it is time to move on.
Whether it is the lovely sunrises and sunsets…
…or the pleasant and good natured local inhabitants, the island nation of Fiji is a special place.
It is difficult to put into words how much we have enjoyed our brief stay.
Rather, we will let a few photographs speak for themselves.
Cochise is secured and heading offshore. Her fuel tanks are filled. Storm covers are fitted to the hatches. Fridge and freezers are loaded.
And while we will miss Fiji, we are excited to poke our nose outside the reef, towards French Polynesia, and see what a 2000NM passage against the trades brings us. This next phase may test both Cochise and the crew.
Then again, maybe it won’t. It’s all a question of seagoing comfort. Stay tuned.

Question for Sarah,
Any updates/thoughts on the original “A Woman’s Perspective” now that you’ve entertained, cooked, done laundry, docked, and all the other things on at least the 64 and the 78? (I can’t tell if the 97 was a one-off.)
My wife’s concerns, beyond basic safety, are generally that she’ll be ‘doing chores all the time’ and ‘having enough privacy at times without having to tow me in the dink for a couple of hours at a stretch.’
